Athletics Day

When I was nine years old, our school had an Athletics Day. We all competed in lots of events, like High Jump, Long Jump, Vortex, Shot Put, Discus and Sprints.

After we threw the discus, we went to vortex. We had to throw  the  green or orange nerf vortex over at least one of the wooden stakes. The wooden stakes were pinned into the green grass. In the front of the vortex, it looked like the nose of a plane. At the back, it looked like the tail of a helicopter. It was very noisy and I heard people yelling. The Vortex went very quickly through air and it whistled very, very softly. I think I came 5th.

After high-jump, we went to long-jump. Long-jump was being held in the very sandy junior sand-pit.There was a nice cool breeze. It was very noisy. I heard people exclaiming, “Yay, I finally did it.” Supporters were yelling out, “Let’s Go! Let’s Go!” to their friends. All of us ran very fast, as fast as lightning. I think I came 5th.

After shot-put, we all went to sprints. We all had to run on nice-looking green grass in lanes. I had to run in lane number three.
It was very noisy. Supporters were yelling and even screaming to their friends. We all ran as fast as lightning. Luckily, none of us cheated. I know I came 4th.

It was a fun day, but I was very tired when I got home from school that afternoon.
