Athletics Day

When I was nine years old, our school had an Athletics Day. We all competed in lots of events, like High Jump, Long Jump, Vortex, Shot Put, Discus and Sprints.

After we threw the discus, we went to vortex. We had to throw  the  green or orange nerf vortex over at least one of the wooden stakes. The wooden stakes were pinned into the green grass. In the front of the vortex, it looked like the nose of a plane. At the back, it looked like the tail of a helicopter. It was very noisy and I heard people yelling. The Vortex went very quickly through air and it whistled very, very softly. I think I came 5th.

After high-jump, we went to long-jump. Long-jump was being held in the very sandy junior sand-pit.There was a nice cool breeze. It was very noisy. I heard people exclaiming, “Yay, I finally did it.” Supporters were yelling out, “Let’s Go! Let’s Go!” to their friends. All of us ran very fast, as fast as lightning. I think I came 5th.

After shot-put, we all went to sprints. We all had to run on nice-looking green grass in lanes. I had to run in lane number three.
It was very noisy. Supporters were yelling and even screaming to their friends. We all ran as fast as lightning. Luckily, none of us cheated. I know I came 4th.

It was a fun day, but I was very tired when I got home from school that afternoon.

Tabloid Sports Day.

On Friday the 23rd of November, our school had a tabloid sports morning.
After the Ski Challenge, we went to Tug-Of-War. We had to pull an end while someone was pulling the other end. Whoever got the most brown rope on their side would win. When it was my team’s turn, we lost, but, when it was girls vs girls, we won. I was very happy. About 5 minutes later, Mrs Russell told us it was time to go onto our next event. I hoped it would be cooler.
Next, we went to Sponge And A Bucket.
There were a red bucket, a blue bucket and a yellow one. Two of the buckets were full of water. We had to pass the sponge onto the other person behind us. We were most likely to get wet. When it was about to start, I got my hands wet so then we would get more water in the bucket. About 2 minutes later, Mrs Ashton said, "Go." We had to turn to the back of us and pass the sponge to the person behind us and they would turn around and give it to the person behind them, the person at the end would squeeze the sponge and then throw it back to the start. The next challenge was over and under. After that challenge it was time to do our final challenge. We had to run to the bucket and then squeeze the sponge into it.
I had fun. My favourite one was the sponge and a bucket.

The First Pet Day For Me To Bring A Pet

On St Paul’s School Pet Day, I brought my pet cat, Blacky, to school, for Pet Day.

First, when Blacky and I got to school, I straight away put her in the hall. Blacky is as black as soot, and a brown, fluffy and adorable small cat. On Pet Day, Blacky was as silent as a grave, and she was so scared that she only crawled when it was just me and the other pet owners who had brought a pet for Pet Day. She crawled very, very slowly.

Next, I got something to eat since my school bag was in the hall. I stayed in all Playtime to look after my cat and my friend Flynn’s cat, Soxy. Soxy is a grey tabby cat with white paws. Soxy was very playful but quiet. (I think that is why Flynn called her Soxy!)

About 10 minutes later, we got told it was time for the parade. I gave Blacky some more biscuits and gave her some more water. She jumped right up to get her drink. Since she was right at the back of the red and white cage, it was safe to open the door. When I went outside, I was nervous and hopeful. I was nervous because I did NOT want Blacky to wee in her cage. Blacky still had not meowed.

When we got to where the parade was being held, which was the courts, I heard animals making sounds,  like the goat going “Baa, Baa”, and Blacky went “Meow, meow”.

Finally, the parade finished, then I put Blacky in the car and opened the cage door. She pounced onto my lap and she purred loudly away. (All the doors in the car were closed just so you know!!!!)

I thought that  it was really cool and Blacky was a definite crowd favourite!!!!!!!!!!
